FAQs

The Tint Factory

Have a tint-related question? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and give us a call today for more information!

  • Will you match or beat competitors prices?

We will not. Window tinting is not like a product you buy in a store that is universally the same. Getting your windows tinted is not just about the film you're buying, but also who is applying it. They have to have experience to get it done right.

When comparing our prices, you’re just comparing numbers, not the actual work and time. However, we usually offer online coupons for our customers.

  • Why is Huper Optik so expensive? Is it really that much better?

In a way, it is like buying a car. You can buy the base model, but as you add more features, the price goes up. Quality goes hand in hand with price. Huper Optik is a special material that has a very high heat rejection, unlike other films.

  • How soon after I tint my windows can I roll them down?

The drying time usually takes a few days, though, in some cases, it may take a week. However, you may open your windows after 24 hours of our service.

  • I tried booking an appointment online, though the next availability is a few days out? Is this a computer glitch?

It is not a glitch. We're very busy since many people want to come to us to get their windows tinted. Many other tint shops can see you right away, while here a lot of times we are booked out a few days, or sometimes weeks in advance.

Another reason is we work with many other dealerships and other businesses, we not only have our regular appointments but those as well.

That just shows what kind of work we do! You know you're coming to the right place.

  • What is Hüper Optik?

Hüper Optik is the world's first and only patented nano-ceramic window film line. They use the same technology that stealth bombers use to be undetected and have created efficient heat-rejecting films that beat the 3M Crystalline line. They are 3x higher in infrared rejection, 4x less reflective, 55 degrees cooler, and 25x more durable than competing films.

  • I understand you computer cut your patterns. Someone told me at another shop that computer cut is no good because it is uneven and not right. Is that true?

It is not true. If other tint shops can't figure out the system, refuse to use it, or cannot afford it, they would prefer to say something negative. We use computer cut 99.9% of the time, with the rare exception of some cars that are either too old for the system or too new. We use whatever may work to our high standards to get cars done right the FIRST time. For the past 10 years, it has been working just fine.

  • If it's raining should I NOT get my windows done?

We do all our work indoors. Whether it's rain, sleet, or snow, we can still tint.

However, the best weather to get your windows done is rain. The moisture in the air helps keep the air contaminants down. No matter what, we always do our best to do this independently, but it's a big help!

  • Do you do residential and commercial buildings as well?

We do. For these services, we usually like to check out the windows before giving estimates. If you'd like to measure the windows and send us an email along with a photo and the numbers, we would be glad to give a rough estimate over the phone.

  • How do I make a warranty claim?

To make a warranty claim, you need your receipt and your warranty card. If for any reason you only have one, at least ONE of the two will do fine. Without either, full charges will apply for any further work. We do NOT keep customer records in our system. It is the customer’s responsibility to keep their paperwork.

  • Does the tint go on the inside of the windows or outside?

The tinting film goes on the inside.

  • Your shop looks very familiar. I had past cars done at a tint shop in San Bernardino on Waterman between Central and Mill. Were you guys located there before?

Back in 2000, we were previously located there. We are now located on Redlands Blvd. between Waterman and Tippecanoe, across from Hospitality Car Wash.

  • Your prices are a lot higher than the shops that I have called. Why is that?

Our craftsmanship, hard work, and precision to detail are what put us "a shade above the rest." We do not pride ourselves on ‘cheap’ prices but on exceptional work and customer service. You will always find lower prices than us, but workmanship and price go hand in hand.

We aren't saying you have to spend a whole lot just to get your car done, though some research will help you make the best decision instead of just basing it on price. If you are still set on just the cost and not the work, you're probably better off trying it yourself, since most places with dirt-low pricing know just as much as you do.
